2024 NIAGARA ON THE LAKE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

THE GARDENER'S GARDEN TOUR

SATURDAY JULY 6, 10AM TO 5PM

THIS YEAR, THE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S GARDEN TOUR

CELEBRATES OVER 30 YEARS OF EXPLORING GARDENS!

We are the Gardener's Garden Tour. Come out and meet the homeowners who created the gardens and discuss with them their ideas successes and trials. Learn how to improve your own garden from experienced gardeners who have experimented in their own gardens.

Not a experienced gardener, but love beautiful gardens? We certainly welcome those who appreciate the esthetics of a beautiful garden landscape and this year we offer eight inspiring gardens to explore.

The weather forecast for July 6th is a lovely 26 degrees Celsius and

we anticipated that the gardens in our tour will be at their glorious best colour and blooms.

To plan for your day of garden touring, tickets may be purchased online for $25 per person until July 5th.

On the day of the event, tickets may be purchased at any of the garden locations for $30 per person, using Cash only; or you can use your cell phone to access Eventbrite for $30 per person on credit cards.

The 2024 NOTL Horticultural Society Garden Tour mission is to showcase a wide selection of gardens in each of the NOTL villages and rural areas.

The NOTL Horticultural Society Garden Tour has curated a selection of nine carefully cultivated gardens, each thoughtfully designed. From vibrant flower beds to tranquil water features and meticulously manicured landscapes, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of gardening styles and inspirations.

As an added treat, homeowners will be present to share their experiences, answer questions, and provide gardening tips. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, the homeowners' insights will ensure that you leave the tour with newfound knowledge and inspiration to transform your own green spaces.

Included in the event will be guided tours at the pollinator garden nestled within the grounds of Southbrook Winery. Situated in the heart of Niagara's wine country, Southbrook Organic Vineyards was Canada’s first certified organic and biodynamic winery, and has been using regenerative, organic and biodynamic farming techniques for over 15 years. Visitors will get a rare glimpse into sustainable winemaking practices. During the guided tours, guests can learn about the vital role of pollinators in the ecosystem while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding vineyards.

In addition to showcasing unique gardens, the 2024 NOTL Horticultural Society Garden Tour will feature a special Bonsai show, offering a distinctive view of the art of cultivating miniature trees. Bonsai, an artful presentation in a potted plant, conveys age and tranquility. Attendees can admire the intricate details of trees cultivated by Niagara Bonsai Society members, marvel at the patience and skill involved in Bonsai gardening, and gain insights into this ancient Chinese and Japanese art form.
